Battle of the giants: Apple financially better than Microsoft
This is the first time Apple getting more profits quarterly than the Microsoft as they have netted more than $750 million US dollars. Microsoft on the other side has reported their profits for the last quarter to be $5.22 billion. For the same period of time Apple has announced profits of $5.98 billion.
Few months ago Cupertino company has performed brilliantly as the company has for the first time earned more than Microsoft in revenues. But not withstanding this Microsoft was continuously ahead of Apple regarding profits, main reason being exceedingly high profit margins in the software branch of the company.
But latest financial success by Apple is already the third victory over Microsoft during the last year. First victory was when in May of 2010 Apple has bettered Microsoft in market capitalisation, following by the higher quarterly revenue during the fall of last year and finally with higher profits during the last quarter.
Interestingly enough Apple is worth 100$ billion more than Microsoft and has already netted so much that it could work without selling anything until 2018.
