Million unlocked iPhones on T-Mobile

Perhaps you are not sure is it a god idea to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone? You think there aren’t many people willing to risk unlocking their devices? Think again. According to a report by 9-5 Mac blog, T-Mobile spokesperson confirmed that T-Mobile alone serves almost 1 million iPhone users on their network in United States.

A million users, that is a large number of jailbroken and unlocked devices, isn’t it? Most of these devices are probably older models like iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, but according to the T-mobile spokesperson, there is also a significant and ever increasing number of their iPhone users who have upgraded their device to iPhone 4. To upgrade to iPhone 4 they had to cut their sim cards as iPhone 4 uses the micro sim which is considerably smaller in size. None the less this can be done quite easily and you will need only simple scissors to cut the sim card to the proper size. In fact you will only cut the white cardboard of the sim card and nothing else, you wont damage your sim card.
It is also worth remembering that unfortunately iPhone users on T-Mobile cant have the 3G speed for data access, as the technology T-Mobile uses for their 3G network isn’t compatible with Apple’s iPhone.

So if you decide to take the jump and jailbreak and unlock your device, you certainly wont be alone, there are many people who have already done this and now enjoy their devices on T-Mobile and many other networks worldwide. You can find plenty of jailbreak and unlock instructions in our blog archive.
