Will The New iOS5 Bring A New Notification System Along With Widgets?
Now While Apple is denying that its encouragement to members of the international press to come and attend their World Wide Developers Conference also known as WWDC has nothing to do with the launch of the new iPhone there are rumors that suggest it’s going to be something monumental. Apple simply denies that a new iPhone will be launched during the event but stopping short of saying that both the launch of the new iOS5 and the latest Mac OS X Lion are both big deals. Apple may probably be trying to stay in the media spotlight by encouraging members of the press to attend and not postpone because the new iPhone will not be launched.
However there are several reports coming out of Apple’s headquarters regarding the new iOS 5, one of which is the rumor that Apple is probably going to roll out a whole new i.e. revamped OS with a new notifications system and brand new widgets to suit the new system. This according to sources has been designed to provide users with quick access to their information without having to go in and launch any apps which is pretty much the same way the Dashboard widgets work in Mac OS X.
While one of the most highly criticized aspects of the iOS platform has been the notification system, Apple seems to have taken note and responded by hiring a somewhat unknown team of developers belonging to an unknown firm to specifically assist with their whole revamp process. If you want to see an example of how the new widgets system will be used you can take a look at Jan-Micheal Cart’s concept video released earlier this month which demonstrates his personal vision of how the iOS. Widgets could work.
There is a rumor primarily kicked off by TechCrunch and their report which claims that the so called Nuance technology system will be buried deep into the iOS 5 platform. But it may not be a part of the platform’s Voice Control system, however things could probably change between now and when the final system is released to the public later in 2011. However a lot up until then is just mainly speculation and the tidbits of information that does filter through does not really tell us a lot about what we can expect from the new iOS5
