Bittorrent app banned from both Apple and Cydia store
Do you enjoy sharing free files online with your friends? Did you know you can do it now with an Bittorent app for iPhone? Well, now you can share you torrents and control the file sharing process on your desktop computer with this app.
First Bittorent app for the iPhone known as iControlbits was by some mistake allowed into the Apple app store few months ago, but only for a short time. Only a couple of hours after the famous web portal Torrent Freak published an article about iControlbits, Apple’s censors have immediately removed the app from the iTunes App Store. Apple is well known by its anti torrent policies and it comes as a surprise that the app has even entered the app store at the first place. The main developer of the app, Luka Hlastec was deeply disappointed with Apple’s decision and he has immediately turned to other publishing platforms.
He firsts decided to go to Cydia with his app and for a short time things worked flawlessly: app was accepted in Cydia. But after only a couple of weeks situation suddenly changed. In an interesting twist Cydia acted same as Apple: it banned the iControlbits from its app store. The reason for such decision was that they think that this app promotes illegal sharing of copyrighted content. Saurik, who is the owner, developer and manager of Cydia said that such apps pose a serious legal risk and because of this they are not accepting such apps into their app store any more.
So another solution has to be found for the app. Finally, iControlbits developer decided to place the app in the Big Boss repository which didn’t have any objections. So you can download the app for free from the Big Boss repository and install it through Cydia app installer. When you install it you can immediately share some cool files with your iPhone or iPod.
