Redsn0w jailbreak for iPhone on iOS 4.3.1!
We are happy to announce: developers from the famous iPhone Dev Tem have finally released an untethered jailbreak for most recent Apple iOS 4.3.1 for windows RedSn0w version 0.9.6rc9 and Pwnage Tools version 4.3. Only jailbreak for iPad 2 is not supported at this moment.
Important! If you need to unlock with UltraSn0w do not use RedSn0w jailbreak! Using RedSn0w will upgrade your baseband which means that you wont be able to unlock your iPhone as new basebands cant be unlocked at this time.
Here are instructions for jailbreaking your iPhone with iOS 4.3.1 firmware
1. Download the new Apple iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your iPhone
2. Before you start please update your iTunes version to the latest 10.2.1
3. Start iTunes and update your iPhone to the 4.3.1 iOS
4. Double click on RedSn0w to start it and browse to the iOS 4.3.1 IPSW file
5. Tick only “Install Cydia” option.
6. Plug your iPhone into your Windows PC and then turn it off. Click on “Next”.
7. Now you will see a window with instructions for entering your iPhone into DFU mode. To get into DFU mode press and hold Power and Home button on your iPhone for 10 seconds. Afterwards release the Power button but keep holding the Home button. When the firmware installation starts you can release the Home button.
8. Wait until the the installation is finished. When finished your iPhone will reboot and it will boot into jailbroken state on the iOS 4.3.1.
You will now have a jailbroken iPhone and you can proceed to install Cydia apps of your choice.
