Iphone sim card replacement

Did you ever wonder how to change your iPhone sim card?

Apple would like to hide this from you but it is fairly simple to change your sim card. You can use another sim card of your provider or even better, you can change your provider if you jailbreak and unlock your iPhone.

Here is a short guide on how to do it :

The sim card is removable but somewhat hidden. You will need some sharp item to open the sim tray. A paper clip will serve this function good enough.

Here is where the sim card is hidden

1 Find the sim tray

The slot is located at the top of the iPhone, between the headphone jack and the power button.

You will find the sim tray at the top of your iPhone. It is nested between the power button and the headphone slot.

2. Open your tray

Push your paper clip gently into the sim tray. Don’t use too much pressure, you can easily damage the tray! Then press slightly until the tray opens like in the picture.

3. Take it out!

Your sim card lies in a plastic tray. You can now take the sim out of it.

Take out the sim card

Take your second sim card of choice and put it back in the tray. The plastic tray and the sim card are of the same shape so you can insert it only the right way. Put the sim tray with the new sim card back into your iPhone.

Congratulations, you have changed your sim card and you are a step closer to mastering your iPhone.
