Pegatron to assemble 15 million iPhones
Apple has apparently filled an order for 15 million iPhone 5 smartphones from their hardware suppliers Pegatron Technology, which is a Taiwan based manufacturing corporation. As you probably know iPhone 5 should be launched in September of this year. If this estimations for release of the new iPhone model are correct, Apple and their partners will have to be really aggressive with their production plans.
Another information shows that Pegatron was responsible fro production of only 4 million iPhone 4 at the beginning of this year. Pegatron Technology is only one in the group of companies which are taking part in assembling Apple’s products along with other Chinese and Taiwan based companies which include other well known names like Foxconn. As a further sign that this rumor is fact based comes the information that Pegatron started hiring more workers for its plants based in Shaghai, China.
Pegatron was rumored to be almost pushed out from their contracts with Apple by its competitors, but as some industry analysts point out they have probably been rewarded for their loyalty toward Cupertino California company, and as such deemed to remain as supplier for Apple.
It seems that after Apple’s latest order for millions of CDMA iPhones, Pegatron is intensively upgrading its manufacturing capacities including employing more workers, preparing new plants and purchasing new equipment.
Hopefully Apple will be ready to launch iPhone 5 in September. We cant wait for that to happen, are you like us eager to get a new iPhone 5?
